Babymoon Time

by franci 28. January 2009 21:40

We've been married now for about 17 months and the baby fever is creeping in! In all honesty, we've both been pretty anxious to start our family, but we're cautious to not jump the gun. I just turned 29 and that was a little scary for me. So scary infact, that I had blocked it out completely. I honestly and truly thought I was still 28 until hubby viciously broke the bubble today and reminded me that if we got pregnant this year, I would most likey be a 30 year old first time mommy. Thanks honey!!!!

It was agreed upon fairly early that our Euro trip had to come before little munchkins. So....it only seemed natural that this should be our babymoon (babymoon - a romantic baby making vacay! hehehe). We've traveled a lot together, but his trip in particular has me so super excited since neither of us have been to Europe!! I just wanted to share the 4 countries that we've narrowed it down to....so far.

Top priorities:

#1 Romance

#2 Relaxation

#3 Baby! lol...

What do you think?

Any tips on time of the year to go, romantic hotels, Italian beaches....etc. Anyone have invaluable European experiences that they would love to share? Please leave comments!! Can't wait to hear stories or suggestions!

Thanks ;)

Pinkghost Fun fair!!

by franci 8. November 2008 16:45

Hey all!

I decided to pop into the Pinkghost fun fair today! What a pleasant surprise to see such cute things from super nice vendors :)

From the pinkghost site: "The Pinkghost Fun Fair was created in an effort to raise South Florida's awareness and support of local businesses and artists. On November 8, 2008 the Pinkghost Fun Fair will showcase the coolest independent South Florida stores & artists."

There was a $2 admission at the door and it was well worth it. There was a great vibe as soon as you walked through the door. They had a dj and a small, but decent variety of products to showcase, from punk inspired doggy clothes to homemade baked goodies!

I wanted to write something about the host for this awesome shindig...Pinkghost, but sadly, I visited their cute website and couldn't find an about us section. :(

Some cute pouches and handbags caught my eye at the designedbydiana table, super cute and well made. Check out her adorable apron too! My hubby liked it (probably to try to get me to spend more time in the kitchen....which I might have to consider if I was wearing this cute number ;)

So, I went to this thing with my husband, Tiago, and we met a friend there: the oh-so-ready-to-spend-some-money Kathy (don't we just love people like that?!) She made a purchase at the dog save the queen table - Punk inspired clothing for you and your pooch! She bought the most adorable little hat, yes, hat for her sisters puppy.  Unbelievably enough I didnt take a picture of it! But take my word for it, she'll be the envy of all the other dog owners (and dogs) at the dog park as she flaunts her stuff in her new camoflauge & tulle hat! Too adorable for words.......Miss Kathy also couldn't stop drooling over the exquisite retro hats at humble bumble b. The only thing that stopped her from buying one was FEAR! She 'thought' she wouldn't be able to pull off a hat like that. Nonsense, if you ask me... :) They looked impeccably made and she had tons to chose from.

Yay for baby clothes! With one of my closest friend being 4 months pregnant (yay meghan!) I'm currently a little obsessed with baby stuff. Seriously, it has nothing to do with the slight baby fever I have....The Mindy and Lola table was cute baby stuff overload! Little reversible booties for newborns, tutus!, hairclips.....and the list goes on and on. I'll absolutely be visiting her online shop for some booties soon. Lebostudios had a fun table full of artwork! Check out his gorgeous site and experience a little bit of miamian flavor......

So anyone who has read my blog knows that you mention the words eco-chic or eco-friendly and I'm hooked! These flip flops rock! I love them. They felt soft and super comfortable and they are great to look at (always a plus). They are made of all recycled materials...enough said, go get some at Vinscloset.com.

Aqua Salon was there! Woohooo, I get my hair done there by the wonderful Amy......They were offering discounts on services and showing off their fabulous work with the crazy harajuku- looking models you see above..... The dorks in the middle? That's us! :)

There were tons of other artists there as well, but the life of my camera battery is only so long. I wish I could've gotten everyone....I hope everyone had good sales!

Fawn and Forest is a retailer of modern baby and eco friendly children's products, but I've found some stuff on their site that is great for grown ups too! I dont even have kids and navigating through their website made me want to have a few of my own. ;) They have some great wall decals, furniture, clothing and more......The decals are my favorite!
